FAQ

Please dress to the weather conditions, remembering that we are outside and Lower Hermitage is usually cooler than on the Adelaide Plains.

Enclosed shoes, covering the ankle  (preferably boots with no heel) are a requirement all year round due to the nature of the sessions. Any support worker or parent accompanying you outside of their vehicle are also required to meet clothing requirements.

Comfortable clothing and long pants (preferably jeans) are highly recommended due to snakes etc. Please wear clothes that you are comfortable with getting dirty. A hat, sunscreen and water bottle is also encouraged in sunny weather.

Complete the Booking Intake form (online) and the bring the completed Risk Waiver form with you (this will be separately emailed to you). Arrive about 5 minutes prior to your session, so that we can make sure all the paperwork is completed and you know where we are. If you are an NDIS Participant make sure your Service Agreement is signed prior to the session (bring the original or email it to us).

This is your journey and at all times you can expect to feel supported and safe to explore your experiences, while also ensuring the welfare of the horse(s).

Your session will be facilitated by a qualified and professionally registered Counsellor who also holds certification as an Equine Assisted Psychotherapist. We generally work with the horses free in their paddock to ensure that they give consent to participate in the session at all times. This may look different to other EAP sessions you may have participated in.

Importantly, it’s important to be aware that your session is not a “horse riding lesson” – the majority of the work we do is unmounted (ie: on the ground).

Yes. We currently aren’t holding group/retreat formats, and our toilet facilities located inside the house are not available during the pandemic.

Also, if you are feeling unwell, you must NOT attend the session in person. Can you please let us know so that we can reschedule your session. Thanks for your understanding.

The welfare of our horses , dogs, staff and clients are very important to us. If the weather is forecast to be over 35 degrees, no services including animal participation will be offered.

Due to extreme danger, no services will be offered in person at Warida Wholistic Wellness in Lower Hermitage. Some services may be offered via Zoom or telephone.
